
Tom has extensive experience in bringing venture funded medical technology companies from initial startup through product commercialization, revenue growth and exit. Prior to joining WaveTec, he was President & CEO of Genyx Medical, Inc., which he founded in 1997. Tom led Genyx through its early development activities, a large multi-center randomized trial, approval of a PMA for its principal product, and ultimately the sale of the company to C.R. Bard in March 2005. Prior to founding Genyx, Tom was with Micro Therapeutics, Inc. as its Chief Financial Officer. At MTI, he saw the company through two venture financings and its IPO, as well as managing business development activities. Prior to MTI, Tom served since 1985 as CFO in several other early stage device companies in Orange County, including Advanced Surgical Intervention and VLI Corporation. He received a BS degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a MBA with Honors from the University of California, Irvine.

Amy has nearly 20 years of global experience in marketing and branding medical devices. Prior to joining WaveTec, she spent two years with Versant Ventures, specializing in early-stage medical device investing. Amy also held multiple roles at Edwards Lifesciences, (formerly Baxter Healthcare Corporation), from 1992-2004. As Vice President of Global Marketing and Branding, Amy was responsible for strategic development, new product launches, corporate and product branding and managing cross-functional new product development teams. She received her BS degree in Business from Indiana University and her MBA from Pepperdine University.

John has over 20 years of experience in successfully bring medical devices from concept to market in various medical disciplines. Before joining WaveTec, he was Director of Engineering at Genyx Medical, Inc. At Genyx, John led the development and implementation of product manufacturing, physician product training and establishment of both product and process improvements. Prior to Genyx, John was Director of Engineering at Imagyn Medical Technologies where he saw the company through the development and launch of two successful product lines. Prior to Imagyn Medical, he has served as senior engineering and project manager of numerous product development teams including those at Shiley (a division of Pfizer), Sorin Biomedical and Rama Corporation. John received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Craig has over 15 years of experience in project management and new product development in a wide range of technical disciplines. Prior to joining WaveTec, he was Director of Program Management and Sr. Global Product Manager for six years with Advanced Medical Optics (formerly IntraLase Corp.), where he wrote and implemented the design control process, led the technical aspects of the ISO 13485 certification, and was instrumental in bringing four generations of femtosecond laser technologies and procedures to market. Before joining IntraLase, Craig held project management and marketing positions with Stryker Endoscopy in the Video / Optics division, as well as other high tech and defense firms. He began his career as a Lieutenant in the U. S. Navy, where he earned his Surface Warfare Officer qualification, and was certified in the operation of Naval Nuclear Reactors. He received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the U. S. Naval Academy, graduating with Distinction, an MBA from the University of Maryland, and is a member of several professional societies.

Tom has extensive experience in high tech product development in ophthalmic diagnostic and laser technology fields. Before joining WaveTec, Tom was Vice President of Product Development & Clinical Research for Tracey Technologies. At Tracey, Tom was responsible for transitioning a prototype wavefront system based on ray tracing technology into a reliable commercial product. Prior to Tracey, Tom served as Vice President of Clinical Research/New Products Manager at EyeSys Technologies. He has also held positions at Emetropix Corporation and Sandia National Laboratories. He received a B.S. with Honors in Chemistry/Physics from Butler University, and a PhD. in Chemistry (Chemical Lasers) from the University of California, Berkeley.

Scott has spent nearly his entire career in financial and accounting positions at high technology and medical device companies in Silicon Valley and Orange County, California. Prior to joining WaveTec, he was Corporate Controller at IntraLase Corp. during a period of rapid growth from a private company through IPO to the ultimate sale of the company to Advanced Medical Optics. Before joining IntraLase, Scott held several financial management positions at Emulex Corporation and left the company as Assistant Controller. Scott began his career in public accounting at KPMG and worked for Hewlett-Packard Company prior to joining Emulex. He is a Certified Public Accountant, holds a BS degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and has an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Nick has over 28 years experience in selling and marketing cataract and refractive surgical technology for some of the largest ophthalmic companies. Most recently, Nick was Senior Vice President, Sales for STAAR Surgical Company and a corporate officer where he successfully rolled out and managed sales for the VisianICL phakic intraocular lens as well as managed the general independent sales force with the cataract product line. Prior to STAAR he was a Vice President of Laser Vision Centers, Inc., where he was responsible for new business development and managing the centers sales and marketing efforts in the Great Lakes Region. He was a founding member of Chiron Vision, the ophthalmic subsidiary of Chiron Corporation, where he was responsible for pioneering new product introductions and for national accounts in cataract and refractive surgical products. Nick was Senior Territory Manager the highest sales position at Allergan Medical Optics. Prior to Allergan, he was territory manager at American Medical Optics. Nick earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Jon has extensive experience in the ophthalmology industry as both an OD and a corporate officer. Prior to joining WaveTec, Jon served as Vice President, Clinical Affairs for Transcend Medical and Refractec, Inc. He also served as Vice President of Global Clinical Affairs and Domestic Professional Relations for Cooper Vision, Inc. He was a clinical care specialist at the UCLA Laser Refractive Center, Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA School of Medicine and a Senior Research Optometrist for Allergan, Inc. Jon was an expert examiner for the California State Board of Optometry and National Board of Examiners in Optometry and an Assistant Professor of the Adjunct Faculty of the Southern California College of Optometry. He has also served as a clinical investigator on numerous FDA studies for contact lens and solution manufacturers. Jon has developed strategic plans, directed and managed OUS pilot and feasibility studies to evaluate the safety and efficacy of medical devices related to corneal refractive surgery, IOL and glaucoma. He has also directed, planned and executed US FDA clinical trials, interpreted data and effectively communicated outcomes with the Agency leading to the approval of two FDA Panel Track PMAs. Jon is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate in its Cornea and Contact Lens Section.
